Content Producers, Online Content, Constant Comment tea

If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, did it make a noise? We have to guess the answer is yes. If you have a blog and no one knows about it, did you make an impact? The answer is a firm NO. If you want to be involved in digital and content marketing, you have to go back to the basics – Reading and Writing.

If you haven’t already, start by setting up a reader that gathers the most influential blogs in your industry into one place for easy dailty review. I like Alltop, but use Google Reader too. Your daily routine has to include reading what’s being said in your marketplace. Next, share your thoughts and insight by leaving comments on the blogs that invite responses. Keep alert for blogs that allow you to leave your website url. This creates a “linkback” to your site. Linkbacks are important because they help with site traffic and search ratings.

It’s not hard. It’s just going back to basis. Read and write. Fortunately, the arithmetic is behind the scenes. If you do the first two well, you shouldn’t have to worry about the math! Google’s search bots will handle that part.
